    Banana Cashew Superfood Smoothie

    Green Banana Smoothie

    I absolutely love smoothies. I especially love smoothies that are supercharged with superfoods and leafy greens. I love them because they are fast, convenient for people on-the-go, extremely nutritious and they are tasty.

    Smoothies make really good vehicles for supplements and superfoods that are hard to take alone. Anytime a client of mine feels a cough, sore throat, congestion, etc, I immediately recommend that they start doing superfood smoothies 2x/day until their symptoms disappear. This goes along with a supplement protocol, but the smoothies by themselves will help a ton.

    You can sub any fruit or nut in this recipe, just make sure to blend it really well! Enjoy…

    Banana Cashew Smoothie

    serves 1

    1 1/2 bananas, frozen
    1 cup good water, more as needed
    1/4 teaspoon spirulina or blue-green algae
    1/4 cup raw cashews, soaked in water 5 hours if desired
    1/4 teaspoon camu or mangosteen or other vitamin C fruit powder
    small handful of organic spinach
    generous pinch of sea salt
    2 teaspoons maple syrup or other sweetener of choice

    1. Blend all ingredients together on high for 1 full minute (cashews need time to break down fully).
    2. Optional: Garnish with slivered almonds.
