You can be as happy and healthy as you want
I'll show you how...

Pregnancy After Chronic Lyme and Autoimmune Disease!

Yes, I am pregnant and we are having a baby! This is such exciting news for us to share, and I wanted to tell you all about it…

So, I’ll start at the beginning of the love story…

In early 2016, I met the man of my dreams. And apparently, I’m the woman of his dreams; which honestly, still startles me a bit.

When you grow up with a physically disabling disease, you wonder if any man will ever find you attractive – or be able to see past the physical differences. While I have been able to reverse much of the joint damage, rash and weight gain through strategic nutrition and herbal supplementation, I still had my doubts about being lovable.

Nevertheless, he loves me to my core and I feel at peace with life, love and my body.

I didn’t know if that elusive feeling of “when you know, you know” was actually real. But I can say that it is. It took me about three dates with Ross to know that he was someone I wanted to marry. And apparently it was the same for him!

He bought me a ring I’ve been wanting for years and asked me to marry him at one of my favorite spots in Los Angeles.

This past winter was difficult for us, and we are still recovering a bit.

Life threw many challenges our way, including losing a beloved pet to cancer, a serious car accident, and an armed assault while on vacation.

We are all more than okay now, and made it through. But, it was a challenge to stay consistent with my weekly Take Back Your Health videos and emails. I had someone I wanted to take care of, and that seemed to be all that mattered.

Now that we’ve made it through the winter, life has thrown us a new, beautiful surprise.

This spring, just a few weeks before Take Back Your Health LA, we found out that we are going to be parents! Wow! Even though we were surprised and scared initially, we are so happy and excited to begin the journey into parenthood.

It’s funny to look back to the weeks right before we found out about the pregnancy. We had been vacationing in Big Bear Lake and so many of our conversations had centered around babies. We made comments about how we would raise them, values we wanted to share with and teach them, what family names we wanted to pass down, etc. Little did we know that I was pregnant at the time of those conversations!

I always wondered if my body would be able to create another life one day.

Spending most of my life with a severe Autoimmune Disease and Chronic Lyme Disease took away my fertility for a long time.

That left me wondering if I’d ever get to experience the most joyful moments of life. Now I’m here, 16 weeks along, with the man I’m going to spend forever with, and a healthy baby growing inside. I’m feeling wonderful, and healthy. I have so much energy and excitement. I’m finally over the first trimester exhaustion, and back to normal!

Our due date is November 30th, so of course I had to rearrange some dates with the Take Back Your Health DC Conference. The TBYH DC Conference date needed to be early enough in the year that I would have time to relax and get organized with work this fall, before becoming a mommy in November. I am so grateful to everyone for understanding the TBYH DC Conference date change!

    *********

I have made the decision to share this journey with you all, no matter what may happen, because I know so many of you are in the same shoes – health is holding you back and you wonder if your life will ever turn out how you dreamed it to be.

I want you to know that no matter what your body is going through, there is always, always, always something you can do to feel better.

There is always something you can do to improve your health. You CAN experience your dreams.

I encourage you to watch my videos on youtube about why we are so sick and how to overcome the health challenges you are facing.

I’ll be writing a series called “Motherhood After Chronic Lyme,” focusing on what I’m doing to grow a healthy baby. You can always get to these updates by clicking the pink tab on the top right of this website.

Please also follow me on facebook and instagram, because you know I’ll be posting photos of my belly and the healthy food I’m eating!

I’m looking forward to sharing this journey with you! And as always…

    Keep taking back your health,
    Robin Shirley
