    Moringa Energy Snack Balls

    This delicious recipe from Organic India features Moringa leaves. The Moringa is a tree native to the Northern Indian region that has been revered for many years as an antioxidant-rich superfood. Native to India and Africa, Moringa is a nutritionally complex superfood naturally abundant in vitamins, minerals, and amino acids – the building blocks of protein. 

    Moringa is considered one of the most complete, nutrient-dense plants on earth. It is used worldwide to combat malnutrition and its leaves have been eaten for thousands of years as a staple of the local diet. That being said, daily use of Moringa can add concentrated superfood nutrition to your diet and help you to consume the nutrients in the recommended 6-10 servings of vegetables per day.

    This recipe is perfect for an on-the-go energy bite or a sweet treat to share with friends! I like to make these in large batches, and freeze them. When I have a big day out of the house, I grab a handful, put them into a to-go container, and take them with me. I hope you enjoy them too.


    Moringa Energy Snack Balls

    1 ½ cups sprouted (and/or roasted) walnuts or pistachios
    1 ½ cups pitted dates
    1 ½ tbsp cold-pressed, organic coconut oil
    1 tbsp raw honey
    1 tsp vanilla extract
    1 cup shredded coconut
    1 tbsp ORGANIC INDIA Moringa Powder
    1 tbsp ORGANIC INDIA Whole Husk Psyllium
    A sprinkle of sea salt


    1. Add all ingredients to your food processor and process until the mixture is well combined.
    2. Using clean hands, roll the mixture into bite-sized balls.
    3. If you are a big coconut lover, roll each ball in some extra shredded coconut!
    4. Refrigerate the balls for about an hour or until they are firm. Enjoy!
